Sparsh restricts AMU

ALIGARH: Aligarh Muslim University staged a partial recovery by reaching 169 for seven at stumps on the opening day of the North Zone inter-university cricket final against Delhi University here on Friday.

After Sparsh Jain took four wickets for 53 runs for Delhi, the unconquered eighth-wicket stand of 49 runs between Imtiaz Ahmad (29 not out) and Mohammad Furqan (18 not out) lifted AMU.

Earlier, Shubham Bindra (48) and J. P. Singh (24) defied Delhi.
