Double for Rahul Hegde

Bangalore: Rahul Hegde bagged a double, winning the 100m and 200m races in the boys under-16 category of the Deccan Athletic Club’s weekend meet at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Sunday.

Boys: Under-16: 100m: C.V. Bijosh, 11.7s; 800m: Rahul Hegde, 2:20.3; 3000m: Rahul Hegde, 11:21.2; 110m hurdles: Vishal Vikram, 18.0; Long jump: N. Vijay, 5.50m; Triple jump: M.G. Goutham, 11.35; High jump: S. Harshith, 1.80; Shot put: R. Girish, 9.45.

Prakash wins title

V. Prakash returned a card of five over 75 to clinch the Stroke play (0-18) gross title in the Brigade Open golf tournament at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf course in Mysore recently.

The results: Stroke play gross (0-18): 1. V. Prakash (75 gross), 2. K.A. Anil Kumar (76); Stroke play nett (0-18): 1. K.A. Lingaraju (67 net), 2. Yeshwanth Gowda (69); Stableford nett (0-18): 1.A. Al Ameen is champion

Al Ameen College emerged champion in the Dr. Isacc Memorial inter-collegiate hockey tournament in Bangalore during the weekend.

In the final, Al Ameen College defeated Sree Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College 3-2. Nilesh (2) and Somanna scored for the victor while Poonacha and Boppaiah were on target for the loser.

Lamington posts win

Lamington Boys’ HS defeated St. Michael’s High School in the KSCA under-16 inter-School cricket tournament at the Karnataka Gymkhana ground, here on Sunday.

The scores: JSS HS 85 in 15.4 overs (Khalandar Nadaf five for 34, Anil five for 35) lost to Lamington Boys’ HS 86 for seven in 21.5 overs (Guruprasad 32 n.o., Praveen three for 18).
