CHENNAI: The MDMK general secretary, Vaiko, on Sunday said prices of essential commodities could be brought down only by further reducing the prices of petroleum products to November 2004 levels. In a press release, he urged the Union government to fix prices of petrol at Rs.33.70 per litre, diesel at Rs.21.73 per litre and reduce cooking gas cylinders by Rs.183. “Only a price cut will bring down the cost of commodities, otherwise it will not help the people,” he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
