Bid on to end Chengara stir

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan told the Assembly on Wednesday that efforts were on to bring the Chengara land struggle to an end by giving land to all landless Scheduled Caste families in the State. Responding to a calling attention motion from Adoor Prakash (Congress), the Chief Minister said the government had held two rounds of discussions with the agitators, but had found them to be uncompromising. — Special Correspondent
