HYDERABAD: In a bid to avert a two-day strike by National Mazdoor Union from midnight Wednesday, the APSRTC management continued parleys with its representatives till late in the night, even as the Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising five unions announced an indefinite strike from December 22. The management held three rounds of talks with NMU leaders on resolving the main demand for withdrawal of the move to introduce 1,500 Setwin buses. Meanwhile addressing a press conference, the JAC leaders said they unanimously decided to go an indefinite strike as there was no favourable response, either from the management or the government to their strike notice. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
