Meet on mechanical engineering

SIVAKASI: A three-day international conference on “Fascinating Advancement in Mechanical Engineering” (FAME 2008) began at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College here on Thursday.

The conference organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering as part of the college silver jubilee celebration was inaugurated by General Manager of Sundaram Fasteners, Madurai, John Devadasan. Technocrats from the UK, Australia, Czech Republic, Iran, Iraq and Malaysia are participating. N. Siva Subramanian, Chief General Manager, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, stressed the importance of establishing an interface among institution, industry and government. College principal, S. Balakrishnan, and P. Nagaraj, head of Mechanical Engineering, addressed.
