SHIMOGA: Chairman of the Health and Education Standing Committee of Shimoga Zilla Panchayat H.C. Basavarajappa said here on Thursday that education should become accessible to all instead of being concentrated only in the hands of a few.

Mr. Basavarajappa said that education would make a person become courageous and confident to lead a healthy life.

There was a need to change the education sector to meet the requirements of the modern times, he said and added that securing merit in studies was not enough but it should help a student live independently.

Coordinators of DIET K. Ganapathi and Bheemanna were present.
