VKR College triumphs

VIJAYAWADA: Buddhavaram’s VKR College won the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate kho-kho tournament for men that concluded at Repalle (Guntur District) on Thursday. Satenapalli’s AGKM College and Guntur’s Andhra Christian College finished second and third respectively.

Nagamallesh for Hungary

City gymnast D. Nagamallesh, a Class X student of Samvida Vidya Peeth, will be participating in the 34th Tulit Peter Memorial Cup - 2008 to be held at Hungary from December 13 and 14.

The young gymnast will be taking part in the floor and vaulting horse events.

Nagamallesh is a product of the Sports Authority of India gymnastic centre based at V.P. Siddhartha Public School and trains under the senior SAI coach Ram Mohan.

He will be leaving for Hungary with the Indian team from New Delhi on December 12.

Hockey tourney

The four-day Andhra State (u-18) sub-junior hockey tournament for boys will be held at A.J.R College, Machilipatnam, from December 13 to 16, in which 13 teams will feature.
