Water users’ forum planned

VILLUPURAM: It has been proposed to constitute as many as 211 Water Users’ Associations in Varaha Nadhi ayacut areas falling within the jurisdiction of Villupuram district.

Elections to the post of presidents of these associations will be held on December 26 and results declared the same day, according to Collector R. Palanisamy.

In a statement here, he said that prospective candidates could file their nominations on December 18.

The scrutiny would be done on December 19 and those who were opting out could withdraw their nominations the same day. Polling centres would be notified on December 15.
