Friends again: G. Muddukrishnama Naidu with TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Friday. HYDERABAD: Former Minister G. Muddukrishnama Naidu returned to Telugu Desam, the party which launched his political career in 1982, and declared that he was ready to serve as an ordinary worker without aspiring for any position. Mr. Naidu and several of his supporters, including former MLA, Muni Ramaiah, joined the party in the presence of party president N. Chandrababu Naidu. Slams CongressMr. Muddukrishnama Naidu, who recently resigned as MLA described his 12-year stint in the Congress as ‘aranyavasam’. He said Congress was rampant with casteism and regionalism and he was not comfortable in that party. He said that while Mr. Chandrababu Naidu gave good governance, the law and order in the present regime had totally failed. He would strive for the defeat of the Congress and ensure the victory of TDP in the Assembly elections. ‘Sink differences’Welcoming Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu “wholeheartedly”, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu told Chittoor district leaders to sink their differences and work selflessly in a collective manner to regain the party’s past glory. Lauding the former Minister for joining the party when it was not in power, he said that Mr. Muddukrishnama Naidu always fought relentlessly for the principles in which he believed. Several Chittoor district leaders including B. Gopalakrishna Reddy declared that they would work together and ensure that the party wins all the Assembly seats in the district. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
