Wild elephant electrocuted

BERHAMPUR: A wild elephant was killed when it came into contact with 11 KV electricity supply cable near Kantabani village in Buguda block of Ganjam district on Saturday morning. According to villagers this elephant was part of a five-member wild elephant herd that was destroying paddy fields in the area. The elephants was said to have tried to pull down an electric tower passing through the fields and met with the accident. Forest officials have rushed to the spot.
