Chennai: Two officials of the Chennai Corporation were suspended on Saturday for allowing wages to be paid to a sanitary worker for days when she was absent. A sanitary worker in ward 110 in Nungambakkam zone had been absent for 29 days in July and August but was paid wages on all the days. Chennai Mayor M. Subramanian had directed the vigilance officer in the Corporation to conduct an inquiry into the issue.
