CHENNAI: Director Bharathiraja was elected president of the Tamil Film Directors Council on Sunday. Elections to the posts of office-bearers of the Council were held at the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce complex. Mr.Bharathiraja got 511 out of the 669 votes polled. Director R.K. Selvamani, who got 487 votes, was elected as the secretary. Director R. Sundarrajan, who contested for the post of treasurer, won with 306 votes. Directors Vikraman (505 votes) and Sasi Mohan (387 votes) were elected to the posts of vice-presidents. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
