BSNL pensioners’ plea to Centre

CHENNAI: Tamilnadu BSNL Pensioners’ Welfare Association has urged the Central government to extend the benefit of merging 50 per cent of the Industrial Dearness Allowance with basic pay to BSNL pensioners.

In a statement, the association secretary, V. Rama Rao, said the benefit of the merger which was given for public sector employees who retired prior to January 1, 2007 had been denied to BSNL pensioners. — Special Correspondent
