AP retains title

HYDERABAD: Defending champion Andhra Pradesh retained the title in the 24th all-India Postal volleyball tournament defeating Karnataka 27-25, 25-23, 25-19 in the final at Lal Bahadur Stadium, here on Monday.

With captain P. Venkatesh Goud leading from the front with an admirable display, the host came back strongly after being given a tough fight in the first set to wrap up the final.

AVC wins title

AV College won the team championship in the Osmania University inter-Collegiate weightlifting championship at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here.

Kabaddi selections

The Ranga Reddy District Kabaddi Association will organise selection trials for junior boys and girls at the Jyoti Youth Club (Saroornagar) on December 17 and 18 from 3 p.m. to pick the district teams for the 35th junior inter-district championship to be held in Mancherial (Adilabad).
