An SMS (short messaging service) threatening to blow up five railway stations, including Madurai railway junction, kept security personnel here on their toes throughout Monday night. Following an alert that a bomb would explode at 9.30 a.m. at Madurai, Tiruchi, Coimbatore, Tamabaram and Chennai on Tuesday, bomb detection and disposal squads from Tamil Nadu Railway Police, city police and Railway Protection Force were pressed into service. Security personnel kept vigil.
