Ban rallies in city

In response to the Public Eye dated December 3, 2008, V.S. Ganesan of Sanjaynagar writes: As such, rallies, political or otherwise, should take care of the free movement of individual citizen of a place of his living. The recent political rally in Bangalore (November 17) violated this basic rule and created unprecedented hardships to helpless citizens.

Government authorities should not have given permission for such rallies in the heart of the city.

Sharadha Krishnamoorthy writes: We were travelling with a patient from Gokula to reach a hospital in Basavangudi for an emergency treatment. We started from Gokula at 7.15 p.m. and went through New BEL Road. We only reached Palace Grounds around 9.30 p.m. At the end of the day, the purpose of our visiting the hospital was defeated as the patient developed multiple complications by then. Permission to conduct such massive rallies inside the city should be banned bearing in mind public convenience.
