Award for nephrologist

CHENNAI: Chennai-based nephrologist M.S. Amaresan has been conferred the lifetime achievement award by the Indian Society of Nephrology for the year 2007 for his “significant contribution and outstanding success in the academic and clinical field of nephrology.” Dr. Amaresan, a medical director with Trust Hospital, is also Professor Emeritus of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University.

He is a founder member of the Indian Society of Nephrology and founder fellow of the Association of Physicians of India.

He also established the Madras Kidney Trust and Hypertension Research Foundation. — Special Correspondent
