Fourth edition of Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru from December 20

Zee Tamizh to telecast the concerts from December 26

CHENNAI: Several artistes, including Sudha Raghunathan, O.S. Thyagarajan, Nithyashree Mahadevan, Kadri Gopalnath, Sashikiran, P.Unnikrishnan, Sriram Parasuram and Anoorada Sriram, will participate in the fourth edition of Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru to be held at Kamarajar Arangam from December 20 to 25.

Briefing press persons here on Thursday, Raman of Lakshman Sruthi said concerts would be organised from 10.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. on all six days.

The event is being organised by Lakshman Sruthi Musicals, Kalalaya USA, Nataka Academy and the Rotary Club of Madras Mount.

Zee Tamizh’s assistant vice-president (programming) V.Vijayasarathy said that the channel would be telecasting the concerts from December 26.

Lakshmanan of Lakshman Sruthi said that on the inaugural Day, Saint Thyagaraja’s Pancharatna Kritis would be rendered by musicians at 10.30 a.m. after a nagaswaram concert.

Entry to all concerts in the day time is free.

For the concerts at 4.45 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., tickets would be available at Kamarajar Arangam, Lakshman Sruthi Musicals at Vadapalani, Fast Forward DVD Shop at R.A.Puram and online at www.vikatan.com.
