BANGALORE: Rashien Samuel continued his winning spree on the local circuit when he won his second consecutive title in as many weeks, with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Vishnu K. Jinan in the boys’ under-18 singles final of the Mahila Seva Samaja State junior ranking tennis championship here on Friday. S.P. Ritu avenged her last week’s defeat when she scored a hard-fought victory over Preethi Gokhale 7-6(5), 1-6, 6-1 and won the girls’ under-18 singles title. It was also memorable outing for Shivani Manjunath of KSLTA’s High Performance Training Centre who won her maiden title beating Prerna Kalwar 6-3, 6-3. Mahila Seva Samaja’s AITA Talent Series gets underway with main draw matches on December 22 and qualifying rounds will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
