Farm implements distributed

VILLUPURAM: Collector R. Palanisamy gave away farm implements worth over Rs. 9.23 lakh to agriculturalists at a farmers’ grievance day session held here on Friday.

Implements such as power-weeder, electric motors and tractors were distributed through agriculture engineering section, with a subsidy component.

Mr. Palanisamy said that farmers who were getting the implements would get a government subsidy of Rs. 2.48 lakh.

He highlighted the advantages of drip irrigation system and the mode of finance through Primary Agricultural Cooperative Banks.
