Kuttans strike for Meeceri

Udhagamandalam: Toda boys J. Kuttan and P. Kuttan scored one apiece in Meeceri Football Club’s 2-0 win over Young Buds Recreation Club in the NDFA-Udhagai TV second division league at the HADP Stadium here on Saturday.

Earlier, Heroes Football Club survived a few anxious moments before scoring a 3-2 win over Rakei Sports Club. The tournament will resume after a four-day break due to ground maintenance work.

Other results: CFA 2 bt Independence SC 1, Lightning SC 2 drew with United FC 2, Oriental FC drew with Golden Arrows 2, Hills King 1 bt Nilgiris Challengers 0.

At Coimbatore, the all-India Fide-rated open chess tournament, organised jointly by the Junior Chamber International Coimbatore Indcity and the Rotary Coimbatore North, will be held at the Adithya Institute of Technology premises from December 23 to 28.

Sankara College of Science and Commerce will conduct an inter-collegiate volleyball tournament for the Sansac-Mass Value Trophy at its premises on December 22 and 23.
