CHENNAI: College of Engineering, Guindy, and Vestas India will present Kurukshetra ’09, the third edition of the annual, multi-disciplinary techno-management festival on Anna University’s Guindy campus here from January 21 to 24, 2009. The four-day fest, open to students of engineering and management, will feature over 40 events. Nearly 25,000 students from all over the country are expected to participate. A range of special events, including guest lectures by eminent speakers, workshops and an international online programming contest, will be organised as part of the festival. Robotics has an important place, too. The guest lecture series features speakers such as Brian Jennings, senior visual effects director for many films, including ‘Dasavatharam;’ Navneed Hussain, vice-president, Engineering and Technology, Boeing India; John Cromwell Mather, American astrophysicist; and Ganesh Natarajan CEO, NASSCOM. Quizzers have many events in store. Kurukshetra also provides a portal for amateur innovators to exhibit their dexterity. Besides, there are also internships and lots of prize money to be won. The event also features online events ranging from quizzes, puzzles, hacking, and a virtual stock market.
