Rajendran told The Hindu on Saturday. Other casesApart from the Collectorate, taluk offices were also receiving petitions from those left out and their cases too would be considered if found eligible, she said. “Those who do not have a family card, but were affected during the floods last month, are also eligible for the relief,” she said. Block trafficOn Saturday, residents of V.M. Street and Saivamuthaiah Street in Royapettah, blocked traffic on Radhakrishnan Salai for sometime. They protested that their names were not in the list of persons who will get the relief despite some of their neighbours getting the relief money. Police personnel came and dispersed the crowd. They said that some people also crowded outside the Mambalam-Guindy taluk office protesting non-inclusion of their names in the list of beneficiaries on Saturday. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
