THALASSERY: Central Zone defeated North Zone by five wickets in the State inter-zone under-14 cricket tournament at the Thalassery cricket stadium here on Sunday. On a day in which 25 wickets fell, North Zone was bundled out for a paltry 26 runs in its second innings. Central Zone, which conceded a first innings lead of 31 runs, needed 58 runs to score an out-right win. Central Zone suffered a few glitches before reaching the target in the 30th over for the loss of five wickets. Central Zone got five points for the win. The scores: North Zone 120 & 26 for no loss in 10 overs (P.K. Vishnu Das four for eight) lost to Central Zone 89 in 51.1 overs (Jikendra V.
