Subhangi claims title

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Subhangi Choudhary (Army School) won the girls’ under-12 singles title in the Terumo-Penpol sub-junior tennis tournament at the Pangode Tennis Club here on Sunday.

In the final, Subhangi had to ward off a stiff challenge from Manasa Narendran and won 10-9. Nimita won the girls’ under-10 title after defeating Monisha 10-7 in the final.

The results: Boys: Under-12 (semifinals): Varun Nair bt Arun Boban 6-1; Anirudh Jaindhan bt G.S.Sanjy 6-1. Doubles: Varun Nair / Anirudh Jaindhan bt Roshan Jose / Arun Boban 6-2.

Under-10 (semifinals): G.S. Sanjay bt Eammanuel 6-2; Krishna Dev bt Ashish Nambiar 6-5.

Girls: Under-12 (final): Subhangi Choudhary bt Manasa Narendran 10-9. Under-10: Nimita bt Monisha 10-7. — Principal Correspondent
