S-I allegedly commits suicide

NEW DELHI: A Delhi police sub-inspector allegedly committed suicide in his house at Model Town here on Sunday.

The police suspect that he was suffering from depression.

Around 7 p.m., an acquaintance of 45-year-old Sub-Inspector P. Suresh Kumar went to meet him at his police colony. When he did not get any response from inside despite several knocks at the door, he called up the police suspecting that something was amiss. The police broke open the door and found Suresh lying in a pool of blood. He had allegedly slit his wrist.

Suresh was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. He was posted with the Communications wing. His family lives in Kerala. The police have found some documents revealing that he was under treatment for depression.
