New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will unveil portraits of noted Hindi poet late Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and legendary freedom fighter late Veer Kunwar Singh in the Central Hall of Parliament on Monday. “LJP has been consistently demanding to keep the portraits of these leading lights from Bihar in Parliament,” Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said on Sunday. Padma Bhushan Dinkar has also been conferred with the Gyanpeeth award for his epic Urvashi. Kunwar Singh hailed from Jagdishpur village of Bhojpur district and even after attaining the age of eighty years, fought relentlessly against the British rulers before the country got independence, which made him a subject of folklores in Bihar. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
