HYDERABAD: South Central Railway defeated Nav Bharath Club 5-2 in the semifinal of the Vamshi Krishna Memorial invitation hockey tournament at Begumpet Police Stadium here on Sunday. The winner led 1-0 at the break. SCR took the lead in the first-half through Mayank James. In the second session, Bharath and Amit Kumar struck twice each. For the loser, Chandan Singh and Nityanand reduced the margin. In another semifinal, Andhra Pradesh Police defeated Sports Authority of India (STC, Secunderabad) 1-0 with centre-forward Suri Babu scoring the match-winner in the 18th minute of first-half. Rajasthan men triumphRajasthan men and Delhi women won the titles in the all-India BSNL kabaddi championship which concluded here. In the men’s section, Andhra Pradesh finished second.
