Plea against PR closed

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the A.P. High Court comprising Chief Justice A.R. Dave and Justice R. Subhash Reddy on Monday closed a writ petition filed against the Praja Rajyam complaining that it was using the pictures of national and social leaders.

The petition was filed by K. M. Ahmed and others. The petitioners complained that the photographs of Mahatma Gandhi, Jyothirao Phule, B.R. Ambedkar and Mother Theresa by a political party was not proper. He sought a direction to the Election Commission not to accord the status of recognised party to PR. The Bench asked the petitioner to approach the authority concerned to deal with his complaint.
