Mumbai: The Mumbai racing season which was scheduled to resume in February may be put on hold as the Maharashtra State Government’s Animal Husbandry Ministry has banned any movement of horses within the State for two months. Mr. Vivek S. Jain, Chairman, Stewards of the Club, said, “we have learnt that the Animal Husbandry Ministry has enforced a ban on movement of horses from Pune to Mumbai until February 15. However, we have not yet received the notification officially. Once we will get it the RWITC Committee will have to speak to the Animal Husbandry Department and try to lift the ban.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
