Superfine rice seized

Sleuths of the Vigilance and Enforcement Department on Tuesday seized 170 quintals of rice of superfine quality at Kanakadurgamma Vaaradhi. On a tip-off, the sleuths stopped a lorry coming from Kakinada, which was on its way to Udipi, and checked the rice variety being transported. The owner of the stock M/S. Vijayalakshmi Rice Mill at Nadikuduru village near Kakinada obtained permission from the authorities to transport boiled rice of 170 quintals, but loaded superfine variety of rice.
