CLOSE CALL: The injured schoolchildren at the Uthangari Government Hospital on Thursday. KRISHNAGIRI: A portion of the roof plastering in a panchayat union middle school came off during class hours on Tuesday, injuring four children. Uthangarai Tahsildhar V. Mukandan told The Hindu that the plastering came off due to a crack. The injured children were taken to the Uthangarai government hospital for first aid and allowed to go after treatment. District Elementary Education Officer A. Krishnakumar visited the spot with other officials and later faxed a copy of his report to School Education authorities in Chennai.
