CPI (M) cadres arrested

SIVAKASI: Cadres of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), led by MLA K. Balabharathi, were arrested when they laid siege to the Revenue Divisional Office here on Tuesday.

They were demanding free house site pattas for residents of Rani Anna Colony here, whose houses were removed during an anti-encroachment drive in 2005.

The protesters were released later. — Staff Reporter
