CHENNAI: The decks were cleared for the release of the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Ghajini’ with a Division Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday suspending an order of a single judge subject to condition. The Bench passed the order on an appeal preferred by Geetha Arts, Division of Allu Entertainment Pvt. Limited, Chennai, producer of the Hindi film, challenging the order of the single judge who stayed the screening of the film. The Bench comprising Justices V.Dhanapalan and M.Sathyanarayanan said Geetha Arts should deposit Rs.5 crore to the credit of the appellants. It was also directed to furnish the statement of accounts relating to the collections and other amounts over the release of the film to this court on the next hearing date for the intervening period. The matter has been posted for January 6. The court passed the order after considering the facts and circumstances prevailing as on date and the balance of convenience between the parties. Pursuant to the pronouncement of the order, the appellant deposited Rs. 3 crore. As regards the remaining Rs.2 crore, counsel prayed for a week’s time. Time till December 31The Bench granted time till December 31 and permitted the release of the film.
