Dies of burns

SALEM: A youth who sustained serious burns when acid spilled on him accidentally at a godown died at the Salem Government Medical College hospital here on Wednesday.

Police said Vinothkumar (24) of Nallampatti village tried to lift a bottle containing an acid, when he accidentally dropped it. The acid spilling on him, causing serious burns.

He was rushed to a private hospital and then referred to government hospital for further treatment. But he could not be saved.

A case was registered.- Staff Reporter
