Collectors of eight districts participate in meeting

VILLUPURAM: Chief Secretary (Rural Development and Local Administration) Ashok Vardan Shetty held a review meeting with Collectors of eight districts here on Friday.

Mr. Shetty took stock of the performance of various departments in the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, Mahalir Thittam, self-help groups, tsunami reconstruction programmes, etc.

The Collectors of the following districts participated: Villupuram – R. Palanisamy, Tiruvannamalai – M. Rajendran, Vellore – C. Rajendran, Kancheepuram – Santosh K. Misra, Perambalur – Anil Meshram, Tiruchi – Chowdiah, Ariyalur – R. Sudalaikannan and Tiruvallur – G. Sundaramurthy.

Mr. Shetty was accompanied by Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Commissioner (Rural Development), N. Muruganandam, Project Director (Vazhndu Kattuvom), and Hiteshkuamr Makwana, Project Director (tsunami).
