KRISHNAGIRI: As part of the Directorate of School’s initiative to impart computer training to school teachers and Head Masters in the district, the Education department organised a computer training programme to all the 167 government and eight aided high and higher secondary school Head Masters in the districts. Chief Educational Officer M. Baskaran said that the Arignar Anna Arts & Science College came forward to train the Head Masters and Head Mistresses free of cost in two phases from December 19 to 26. The HMs were given training in basic computer operation, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
Inspecting the training programme, Mr. Baskaran asked the HMs to learn computer operation, open e-mail ID and send their feedback about the programme to him on Saturday. He said that 90 per cent of the schools in Krishnagiri had been provided with computers and the remaining schools would also be given computers soon. For the Hosur education district, 60 HMs were given training at the computer lab in Perumal Manimekalai Engineering College. Both the colleges gave the participants the course materials free of cost. In addition, the CEO also arranged a motivation camp for the teachers of Plus Two and class X at the Krishnagiri Government Boys Higher Secondary School.
