He is also the President of Memphis Chapter of Society of Hospital Medicine. After graduating in 1991, Dr. Thakur moved to England in 1993 and completed his two year residency in the Wrexham Maellor Hospital in Wales and in cardiothoracic centre in Liverpool before moving to the U.S. In 1995, he joined St. Mary’s internal medicine residency programme and was chief resident of his programme in 1998 when he moved to Memphis and has been practising internist. The Hospitalist Journal list is prepared after evaluation of physicians for their contributions in teaching, quality improvement, research, cost saving, patient safety and leadership.
