Gokul Krishna sets record

CHENNAI: Chennai youngster Gokul Krishna of Wallace Sports set a record in the JK Junior cup by winning nine races in a row — three on Saturday in the third round and six in the earlier two rounds last weekend.

Sunday will witness the fourth and final round of this National event.

As the Formula Maruti cars stormed the tracks at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irungatukottai, the spotlight was on Gokul Krishna.

In the day’s third and final race, Gokul raced away to victory while the results of the other placings had been withheld and are to be announced later.

The results (all races 8 laps): Race 1: 1. Gokul Krishna (10:05:932); 2. K. Prashanth, 3. B. Paragjyothi.

Race 2: 1. Gokul Krishna (10:06:753); 2. B. Paragjyothi; 3.Vikash Anand; Race 3:1. Gokul Krishna (10:05:932).
