Semifinalists spotted

TIRUVARUR: Chennai defeated Villupuram 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-10 to book a place in the boys’ semifinals of the State volleyball championship (senior) for boys and girls at Koradacheri. Salem, Coimbatore and Kancheepuram complete the semifinal line-up.

In the girls’ section, Tiruvarur, Kancheepuram, Chennai and Coimbatore entered the last four stage.

The results: Boys: (quarterfinals): Chennai bt Villupuram 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-10; Salem bt Tiruvallur 25-23, 25-16, 25-17; Coimbatore bt Tiruchi 25-16, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19; Kancheepuram bt Tiruvarur 28-26, 25-21, 25-22.
