Kozhikode: The special court on Saturday convicted 63 accused, in a case relating to the May 2003 communal attack at Marad beach near here, while acquitting 73 others for want of evidence.

A PTI item in "Briefly" (December 28, 2008, page 1), titled "63 convicted in Marad carnage case", said that a special court on Saturday convicted 63 accused, in a case relating to the May 2003 communal attack at Marad beach, near Kozhikode and acquitted 73 others for want of evidence. Other reports (December 28, 2008), titled "Marad case: court finds 63 guilty"/"63 held guilty in Marad case", gave the figure as "73 acquitted" as well. It should have been "76", and was an editing error.
