Missing girl traced to house in Red Hills

CHENNAI: A two-and-half year old girl, who went missing from her home on the pavement near Rattan Bazaar, was traced to a house in Red Hills.

Police handed over the girl to her parents and rewarded the woman who took care of the child.

According to police, Balaji a tricycle driver and Kavitha, who live on the platform near Rattan Bazaar, had lodged a complaint with the Flower Bazaar police station that their child Roslyn was missing from 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police had put up posters with the photo of the child at various places, including railway stations. On Saturday, Jayalakshmi Ranganathan, a resident of Vyasarpadi, brought the child to the police station. When inquired by police, Jayalakshmi revealed that she noticed the child crying near the Fort Railway Station and since the child was alone she took her home.
