Rs. 6.5 lakh stolen

CHENNAI: A sum of Rs. 6.5 lakh was stolen from three persons on their way to a bank near Avadi on Saturday.

According to sources, the three persons were travelling by car when a couple of men on a motorcycle waylaid them near Sundaracholapuram in Avadi around 1.30 p.m. The motorcyclists got into the car and took the three men to Kannadapalayam, some distance away.

They then asked the three men to return to Sundaracholapuram where they decamped with the money.
