SALEM: A free eye camp for persons with disabilities was held at Swarnapuri Panchayat Union Primary school premises here on Sunday. The camp was jointly organised by the Salem District Blindness Control Society, Lions Club of Salem Cosmos, Salem District Physically Handicapped Welfare Association and K.G. Hospital, Coimbatore. Inaugurating the camp, Collector J. Chandrakumar called upon the people and organisations to extend support for the well being of differently abled persons. He appreciated the organisers for conducting a camp especially for the differently abled persons. TeamA team of doctors and paramedical personnel from K.G. Hospital screened the visitors for eye defects. Persons who were identified for further treatment and surgery were taken to the hospital at Coimbatore.
