Five athletes corner glory

BANGALORE: Five athletes bagged a double each on the fourth and concluding week of the 20th Deccan Week end athletic meet at the Sree Kanteerava stadium here on Sunday.

St. Philomena HS’s Prashanth Dwedi in the boys’ under-13, Rahul Hegde of Bharath Sevadal Jnana Bhandara in the boys’ under-16, Semral Dinha of The Best HS in the girls’ under-12 and Srishti Sunil (Vidyashilpa Academy) and Amulya Arun (Mary Immaculate) both in the girls’ under-15, all ended the four-week end long meet in a blaze of glory.

Harish sparkles

Harish’s seven for 12 spell helped Bangalore gain a 175-run first innings lead over Tumkur in a KSCA Inter-Zonal under-14 tournament match that commenced here on Sunday.

Bangalore 205 in 69.2 overs (Bharath five for 55) vs Tumkur 30 in 20.2 overs (Harish seven for 12).
