Former MLA dead

Karwar: The Former MLA from Kumta Mohan Shetty died on Monday morning at his residence at Kumta. Mr. Shetty (55) suffered a massive heart attack at 9.30 a.m. and died instantly. He was elected from Kumta Assembly constituency two times in row as a Congress candidate. He lost by the lowest margin of 20 votes in the Assembly elections in May 2008. A successful businessman, he was popular among the all sections of people. He was elected to Assembly in 1999 and 2004.— Correspondent
