Strict monitoring for distribution

VILLUPURAM: Collector R.Palanisamy has stated that the officials in the rank of Deputy Collector would be deployed in every block in the district to ensure supply of the free Pongal package to all the ration card holders.

In a statement released here, the Collector stated that the government announced package would contain half a kilogram of raw rice, half a kg of jaggery, 100 grams of green gram, and 20 grams of cashew, cardamom and raisin (all put together).

The package would be supplied through the fair price shops from January 1 to 14, the Collector added.
