CHENNAI: The arrival and departure of more than half-a-dozen flights were delayed on Monday because of the bad weather in different parts of the country. Airport sources said the arrival of four flights from New Delhi and one from Bangalore was delayed. The departure of one each to New Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkatta was also delayed. The delay in the arrival ranged from two to six hours. The airport sources said Air India’s flight from New Delhi was scheduled to reach Chennai at 8.50 a.m., but it landed around 2.15 p.m. Kingfisher’s flight from New Delhi arrived here by 4 p.m., as against the scheduled time of 2.05 p.m. The Jet Airways flights, scheduled to arrive here at 12.30 p.m., landed at 4 p.m. The SpiceJet flight from New Delhi landed at 4.30 p.m., against its scheduled time of 11.45 a.m. A flight from Bangalore to Chennai arrived late by more than three-and-a-half hours. The Chennai-New Delhi Air India flight, scheduled to leave here at 10.10 a.m., left around 3 p.m. The Jet Airways flight to Bangalore left at 5.05 p.m. instead of the scheduled time of 2.20 p.m. The SpiceJet flight to Kolkatta was to have left at 12.15 p.m., but it departed around 5.15 p.m., the sources said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
