Tarun Sangha posts win

NEW DELHI: Last year’s semifinalist Tarun Sangha defeated Simla Youngs 2-1 in a group `B’ preliminary league match of the Delhi Soccer Association annual senior division open clubs league at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Monday.

Henry, the Nigerian striker, put Tarun Sangha in the lead with a powerful angular shot after Arup Sarkar and Altafuddin Ahmed created the opportunity. The second goal was scored by Figo, also a Nigerian. Simla Youngs reduced the margin through its Nigerian pro Ugo.

In another match, Giants Club were locked goalless by Shastri Club. — Special Correspondent
